About
Me
I love using my creativity and any
available resources to solve problems. I studied
art, literature, human anatomy and philosophy in university.
My love for visual communication led me into a career in commercial
illustration. And my rather sudden reversal into a positive
emotional direction back in 2003 has led me into a previously
dormant and powerful talent, waiting for the right time to
emerge… Life Coaching.
I've been in some pretty low places.
I grew up amongst poverty, anxiety, addiction, and self loathing.
I used to think that being harsh with myself was the way to
push myself to being "better" than I was.
I chained myself to a dying business (a business that I loved)
loosing $200 a month, shunned the help of other people, put
my marriage in jeopardy. I hit bottom slowly and insidiously,
even after 3 years of support groups. I wasn't taking
responsibility for my own well being.
Maybe I didn't hit a really low
bottom yet, but I could sure see it coming.
My family was breaking my fall, and I decided I better start
flapping my own wings or it would soon be too late.
I started studying everything I could get my hands on to help
me do it. There are a lot of radically effective practices
out there just waiting for people to embrace them... so I
did. This began my dedicated practice of ongoing personal
development.
Today my wife and I enjoy harmony
and deep connection and love in our marriage, and financial
stability that I've never known before. My once dying
illustration business is now thriving and dovetailing beautifully
with my coaching practice. I accomplished this with
the help of many teachers, many courses and books, and of
course, my own coaches, Paul and Layne Cutright, whose home
study courses are available for you in my bookstore
here on the website.
For ages people told me I was a
natural healer and I didn't understand how to do anything
with that. After a few years of studying a
lot of personal developoment materials just for my
own interest Deepak Chopra, one of my favorite teachers, made
a statement that showed me the way. He said to look
at your unique combination of talents and passions and see
how they could be combined into a uniquely "you"
kind of occupation or endeavour. This would help you
discover your mission or purpose in life, or at least for
now.
I have two very prominent passionate
skills; illustration and personal development. These
popped into my head immediately on hearing Deepak's words
and I decided that my mission was to create illustrated training
materials for personal development trainers. Almost
immediately my illustration career took off as opportunities
to illustrate healing educational pieces started floating
in, seemingly out of nowhere. The first such job was
30 illustrations for master Coaches and EFT practitioners,
Paul and Layne Cutright, who soon became my coaches.
Working with Paul lead me into learning Emotional Freedom
Technique (EFT) which was so fun to practice on my growing
list of volunteers that it evolved into a coaching practice
of my own, which is what this website is all about!
I absolutely love coaching.
What a treat to watch people transform before your
eyes, and to know that I've guided them to that place. I'ts
beautiful. I started this coaching practice in the Autumn
of 2006. I've learned a lot of excellent transformational
exercises that I've used to great effect in my own personal
journey of growth. EFT is the hub, the foundation, the
tool that allows us to apply the other stuff continue to study.
This includes VAK process, "CURE™ Process, some
NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). The teachers who have
had the biggest influence on my coaching style are Paul Cutright,
Gary Craig, Tony Robbins, Mark Joyner, T. Harv Eker, and Deepak
Chopra.
